  This is the slightly grander relation to our delicate berry garlands. Deep green metal leaves mingle with rich red berries along fine, twisting strands of silver-toned wire. The leaves give the garland more structure and presence, while keeping the whole thing light and elegant.

   

  It’s substantial enough to stand alone, so you don’t need greenery or other decorations to make it work. Loosely drape it along a mantelpiece, trail it down the centre of the table, hang it over a doorway or wind it around a mirror. The fine wire lets you gently arrange the strands and leaves until they sit exactly where you want them. Of course, it also looks lovely mixed amongst fresh or dried foliage. Add eucalyptus in autumn, then bring in fir, ivy or other festive greenery as Christmas gets closer.

   

  There’s something rather refined about this one. It feels festive without shouting Christmas, which means you’re likely to find excuses to bring it out well before December. Pack it carefully away afterwards and it’s ready to come out again next year.
