Sustainability Strategy

Our Vision

To create effective, affordable products with the lowest practical environmental impact while helping customers make informed, sustainable choices without compromising quality or performance.

Our Principles

Our approach to sustainability is based on evidence, transparency and continuous improvement. We believe genuine sustainability is achieved through informed decisions across the entire product lifecycle, from ingredient sourcing and formulation to packaging, manufacturing and customer use.

We are committed to avoiding greenwashing and will only adopt new materials, ingredients or technologies where they provide a clear and measurable environmental benefit.

Our Strategic Priorities

Responsible Formulation

• Maintain a product range that is 100% free from palm oil and palm-derived ingredients.
• Continue using naturally derived, ECOCERT and COSMOS approved preservation systems across our range.
• Increase the development of concentrated, water-free products where they provide environmental benefits.
• Formulate with the minimum number of ingredients necessary to achieve safe, effective products, making ingredient lists easier for customers to understand.

Sustainable Packaging

• Prioritise refill systems that encourage customers to reuse existing packaging.
• Continue expanding refill options across suitable product categories.
• Increase the use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) packaging as quality, consistency and product compatibility improve.
• Review packaging regularly to identify opportunities to reduce material use while maintaining product protection and customer experience.

Responsible Manufacturing

• Manufacture products in-house in small batches to reduce waste and maintain quality.
• Review production processes regularly to improve resource efficiency and minimise unnecessary waste.
• Select suppliers whose values align with our environmental and ethical standards wherever practical.

Customer Education

• Help customers make informed purchasing decisions through clear ingredient information and honest communication.
• Challenge misleading environmental claims by explaining the reasoning behind our own sustainability choices.
• Demonstrate that effective, ethical products do not need excessive ingredients, unnecessary packaging or premium pricing.

Accessibility

• Keep sustainable products affordable so that environmentally responsible choices are accessible to as many people as possible.
• Continue challenging the perception that higher prices automatically represent higher quality or stronger environmental credentials.

Community Leadership

• Continue working with Plastic Free Penzance to encourage practical reductions in single-use plastics.
• Share knowledge and practical experience to support other businesses on their own sustainability journeys.

Continuous Improvement

We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing process rather than a fixed destination. We will regularly review our products, packaging, ingredients and manufacturing processes, adopting new technologies and materials where they provide genuine environmental benefits without compromising product quality, safety or affordability.

Success will be measured through continued improvements in refill adoption, packaging reduction, responsible sourcing, formulation development and positive engagement with customers and our local community.
