  We love this range of mineral sunscreens, they're made with zinc which means they're reef safe, they give a broad spectrum sun protection (so UVA and UVB), they use lovely ingredients and they're packaged in aluminium so they're plastic free to boot. For those of us with paler than pale skins, mineral sunscreens can prove something of a problem, looking even whiter isn't always what we're after - so the tinted option in this range is very welcome. Even if you're not super pale, the tint counteracts the very slight whitening effect zinc can produce. There's one with a hint of shimmer for those that already have a bit of colour and there's even one with a built in bug repellant for walkers or gardeners who just need to protect the back of thier necks or thier ankles.

  This is a well thought through range with something for everyone. Mineral sunscreens are absolutely the way forward, with island countries now banning the use of chemical UV filters because of the damage being done to reefs, the time to do make the change is now and Tidalwave makes the switch easy. Finally, we've chosen this range because it offers some choice of ingredients, some options use mango butter so gives those with nut allergies some choice and other options are free from aloe as well so those with latex allergies are also catered for.

  Directions for use:

  Use back of fingernail or spoon to scoop out a pea sized amount. Warm between hands to melt sunscreen with body heat then apply to face and gently around eyes. The more you blend into the skin, the more the colour will blend with your skin tone. Repeat for body application and apply generously before any sun exposure. Reapply every 1-2 hours as needed. Wear clothing that covers the skin, a hat or seek shade when possible to minimize sun exposure.

   

  The Mineral Sunscreen is unscented and contains Mango butter*, sunflower wax, apricot seed oil***, aloe vera oil*, vitamin E (derived from sunflowers or olives), carrot seed oil**, red raspberry seed oil**, non-nano zinc oxide (18% concentration)

   

  The Tinted Mineral Sunscreen is coloured with iron oxide so it works to minimize the "white glare" of zinc oxide but is minimally coloured so it is a universal fit for most skin tones. Ingredients are Mango butter*, sunflower wax, apricot seed oil***, vitamin E (derived from sunflowers or olives), carrot seed oil**, red raspberry seed oil**, non-nano zinc oxide (18% concentration), iron oxide blend.

   

  The Luminous Tinted Sunscreen has both the iron oxide and a little hint of shimmer, which apart from being very pretty, does make it super easy to see where it's been applied. Ingredients are Mango butter*, sunflower wax, apricot seed oil***, vitamin E (derived from sunflowers or olives), carrot seed oil**, red raspberry seed oil**, non-nano zinc oxide (18% concentration), iron oxide blend, mica powder

   

  Bug Repelling Sunscreen contains lemon eucalytus oil which makes it perfect for walkers or gardeners who want a bit of protection while out and and about but also don't want to get eaten alive. In a handy pocket sized tin too! Ingredients are Mango butter*, sunflower wax, apricot kernel oil**, carrot seed oil**,red raspberry seed oil**, citronella essential oil, lemon eucalyptus essential oil, cedarwood essential oil, vitamin E oil, non-nano zinc oxide
