Oats

Raw oats have long been used to care for skin because of thier soothing properties, they're cheap and readily available too, so there's no excuse not to have a go, you'll be shocked at how easy it is to make yourself feel like a pampered princess!

 

OAT MILK BATH

A few muslin squares, raw oats and string is all you need for this.  Tie up a few spoonfulls of oats in muslin and string and leave them strung over the taps as you draw your bath.  The water is infused with all the best bits of the oats which will soothe sore skin - this is especially useful for small ones with eczema by the way, it really helps to take the itch away.  It's a lovely for general pampering too, don't under-rate this for a quick all over skin softener.  Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to really indulge yourself, Lavender is good for relaxing of course, but the list of possible oils is almost endless - enjoy experimenting!

 

HONEY AND OAT FACIAL SCRUB

Or face porridge as we like to call it!

½ cup uncooked oatmeal
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp ground almonds
Mix all the ingredients together. Moisten face with a warm facecloth then apply mixture to face avoiding the sensitive area around the eyes. Let mixture dry, then remove with a warm, damp facecloth.
