Soft Facial Brush
Exfoliating brush for face.
Now we're not huge fans of harsh exfoliation here at Pure Nuff Towers – and that's with good reason. In her book 'Toxic Beauty', Dawn Mellowship points out that: 'Abrasive substances are used in exfoliants, such as talc, crushed nutshells and aluminium oxide (in microdermabrasion) to soften or remove the stratum corneum. The International Dermal Institute "do not recommend the use of crushed fruit pits, shells or similar damaging substrates" due to their ability to cause skin irritation. Dr Sandy Tsao, an instructor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School, points out that removing the stratum corneum leaves the skin vulnerable to sunburn, wrinkles, age spots and cancerous legions. Aggressively rubbing exfoliating products on the skin can cause broken capillaries and tiny skin fissures.'
Food for thought, eh? It stands to reason, though. Your body has constructed this wonder of nature, your skin, to keep the outside world, well... out. We should be doing everything we can to help it work, not actively disrupting the surface, which diverts the body to heal the damage we have done instead of being allowed to regulate itself.
So, with this in mind, we encourage you to gently stimulate blood to the surface of your skin using a soft brush instead. Our Soft Facial Brush is simply not capable, even in the roughest hands, of breaking the skin surface. Instead, by encouraging the blood flow through the tissue, it helps your body do the regeneration work that you want it to – and doesn't cause any active harm. Simply dry-brush your face before your washing and cleansing routine, moving upwards in soft motions from your neck towards the centre of your face. The brush is a tidy little thing, just 14.5cm long, wooden handled and with natural bristles. And, most importantly, it provides all the facial exfoliation you will ever need.
