Titanium Dioxide

Titanium Dioxide is a pigment that's used in many industries, food, plastics, paint and also in skincare because oif it's high refractive index. Importantly, we use the microfine version of this, not the nano-particulate.

Wikipedia has, among the other explanations of it's use, this to say about it: "Sunscreens designed for infants or people with sensitive skin are often based on titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide, as these mineral UV blockers are believed to cause less skin irritation than other UV absorbing chemicals."
