Essential Oil - Sage
Familiar and woody based, Sage is another one of the herby lot that do so much hard work. Antibacterial and astringent, mixes particularly well with Lemon or any of the other herbs - and of course Lavender.
From personal experience, great for use on, of all things, dogs if you're making your own animal wash - won't irritate the skin and leaves your pooch smelling fresh but not odd!
