Dry Flaky Scalp?
One of our customers alerted us to this easy and gentle remedy and it really does work. You'll need a couple of teaspoons of brown sugar and about 5 tablespoons of olive oil (brown sugar has slightly softer edges, don't be tempted to use white.... I did and it as a bit too scratchy). Mix together and gently but thoroughly rub this into your scalp, exfoliating gently and moisturising at the same time. To remove it you'll need to apply shampoo directly to your hair before you wet it, then rinse through.
Information on Cosmetic Recipes
For centuries women created their own beauty products using the natural ingredients that surrounded them. Until the mid 20th century there were very few beauty products available in the shops, today we are bombarded with thousands of them. The development of the oil and chemical industries produced cheap detergents, petrochemicals and oils that spawned the multi-billion dollar cosmetic industry.
Once you understand that you skin and hair really only need two things – water and oil – it is easier to resist all the hype that the big companies throw at us. Not wishing to sound like your mother, but the most important way to look after your skin and hair is by eating properly, sleeping properly and de-stressing your life! No beauty product in the world can get rid of wrinkles, but proper nourishment both inside and out will help make you feel and look fantastic.
Here are a few of our favourite tried and tested recipes that cost only a few pence and take minutes to make. Have fun with them.
